But, it will have a direct impact on workers in production countries upstream in the supply chain. However, we see that workers themselves are often forgotten when discussing the content and consequences of HREDD legislation even though they have a crucial role to play in this process. Workers are essential for the stakeholder consultation that will become mandatory under HREDD legislation, but they are often not yet aware of the important role that they can play there. That is why trade unions should get the opportunity to learn more about HREDD, the different steps of the due diligence cycle, and the role they can play in each of these steps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For that reason,\u00a0<strong>CNV Internationaal<\/strong>\u00a0(supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)) has developed a unique training for trade unions about HREDD with the goal of giving workers a better understanding of the impact that HREDD legislation will have on them. At the end of the training, they should be able to use this knowledge in their interactions with (European) buyers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">HREDD is a topic that is of importance to trade unions all throughout the world. Based on this experience, as a partner for trade unions in Africa, Asia and Latin America, we are planning to build a complete training package.
