Guidelines for the digital technology industry in Cambodia to prevent and respond to online child sexual exploitation and other forms of violence against children
Highlights
These Cambodian Child Online Protection Guidelines for the Digital Technology Industry have been developed following the analysis conducted by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication on the readiness of the digital technology industry in Cambodia to prevent and respond to online child sexual exploitation and other forms of violence against children. The need for these Guidelines was identified within the Cambodian National Council for Children’s Initial Situational Analysis on Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSEA) in Cambodia, as well as the Disrupting Harms Cambodia Study, and is embedded in the National Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Online Child Sexual Exploitation in Cambodia 2021-2025. This document provides a summary of the full guidelines and should be read in conjunction with the full Guideline document. The Guidelines are framed within the Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) developed by UNICEF, the Global Compact, and Save the Children, and endorsed by industry, as well as the 2021 UNCRC General Comment No. 25 on Children’s Rights in the Digital Environment.
